Virtual Manchester Road Race

In 2020, a new exclusive mobile app was designed for the Manchester Road Race which allowed the race to be run virtually. The 2026 MRR App will continue to provide the capability to run virtually and offer great functions for all runners and spectators. Special features include the ability to track any runner whether they are running on-site or virtually, see instant results as each participant finishes their race and send race day encouragement through the Cheer messages feature.

  • On-Site: It is anticipated that most participants will run on-site on Thanksgiving Day. Participants will be issued a bib number with a timing tag as has been done in the past. All participants will be timed and can now be tracked by spectators and do NOT need to use the App or carry their phone while racing on-site.
  • Virtual: For those participants who are not able to participate on-site, they can still run the race virtually Thursday, Nov 26, 6:00 am (EST) thru Friday, Nov 27, 6:00 pm (EST).
  • Practice Runs: The MRR App provides all participants the capability to track their practice runs prior to Thanksgiving.
    • These runs can be completed at any location.
    • The participant must carry their phone to engage this feature.
    • The MRR App will show the actual location of the run or a simulation on the actual racecourse.
    • These results are only available on the participant's phone.

Virtual Road Race Registration

  • Virtual Race Registration opens on Tuesday, September 1 and closes Tuesday, November 24 at 11:59 pm
  • Fee: $30
  • Race Registrations are Non-Refundable
  • All Virtual road race participants must register with a unique email address and use the MRR app on their smartphones when competing. The App will track each participant’s progress and automatically report their results to the race officials.
  • Virtual road race participation must be completed between Thursday, November 26, 6:00 am (EST) thru Friday, November 27, 6:00 pm (EST)
  • Results will be published for everyone who completes their 4.737-mile race during the official time period listed above. Additionally, this year's race will be added to their longevity streak.
